Announcing Travel & Accommodation Bursaries for BFMAF 2018

BFMAF is excited to announce travel and accommodation bursaries for artists, filmmakers and critics to attend the September 2018 Festival.

Tyneside BFMAF Bursaries

BFMAF will provide a number of bursaries for Tyneside based artists, filmmakers, curators and critics to attend BFMAF 2018. Succesful applicants will be invited to attend the full Festival (Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 September 2018). The bursaries will support return travel to Berwick-upon-Tweed, 4 nights youth hostel accommodation and Festival accreditation.

Apply here. Deadline 10am on Thursday 6 September. An allocation will be made for those under 30 and priority given to applicants who can attend the full festival (Thursday 20 – Sunday 23 September 2018).

Successful applicants will be informed by 12 September.


BFMAF is grateful toLUX Scotland who will offer one bursary place to a SUPERLUX member to attend the Festival in September 2018.

The bursary will cover a 4-day festival pass, return travel to Berwick and 4 nights’ accommodation.

Following the festival, bursary recipients are required to produce a short response reflecting on their experience to be published on the SUPERLUX website.

To apply for the bursary, please complete the application form explaining why you are interested in attending the festival and how this will benefit your current research and practice (150 words or less). Deadline 10am on Thursday 6 September. SUPERLUX members must be based in Scotland in order to be eligible.
