BFMAF is  looking for an enthusiastic Programme Assistant to help us plan and deliver the internationally renowned Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to join the Festival team, to work on a full Festival cycle gaining hands-on experience in programming, production and Festival administration. The post is offered as part of the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries Programme. 

This is a new role working along side the Festival Director and Festival Manager to plan, deliver and evaluate BFMAF 2018.

The Programme Assistant is an important member of the Programming Team and will provide essential administrative, production and curatorial support.

This post is offered as part of the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries Programme, aimed specifically at recent graduates from low-income backgrounds looking to start a career in the arts. Specific eligibility criteria are outlined in the job pack.

As part of the support from the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries Programme, the placement-holder will have a mentor (external to BFMAF) to support their development for the duration of the contract. In addition, all participants of the Programme will attend training sessions, be involved in a trip to an international festival and have the opportunity to apply for a small number of international placements as part of their role.

The Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries is a nationwide programme supporting arts organisations to expand their approach to diverse recruitment and talent development, and build their capacity for outstanding artistic production. Between 2017 and 2019 it will create 40 new, paid, entry-level roles in the arts for recent graduates at 40 leading arts organisations nationally.
