Residency Announcement - Lucy Clout

Berwick Visual Arts and Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival are delighted to announce Lucy Clout as the Berwick Moving Image Artist in Residence for 2018.

Lucy Clout uses video to explore themes of loneliness, intimacy and kinship, which are plotted and recreated using technology and pop culture. During her residency in Berwick, Lucy will consider notions of pleasure, production and reproduction, creating ceramics and sculptural objects that will be activated within her video work.

Lucy's previous exhibitions and screenings include Raven Row, Tate Britain and Anthology Film Archives, New York (2017); Limoncello (2016); Jerwood Space, CCA, Glasgow (2015). She was the recipient of the 2015 Jerwood/Film and Video Umbrella award. Her videos are distributed by LUX
The Berwick Artists' Moving Image Residency provides the opportunity for an artist working with moving image to spend six months in Berwick to produce new work at a crucial development point within their practice and with the two host organisations’ support.
On appointment to the residency Lucy said, ‘It is a rare and special thing to be given the time and space to make a new body of work. I am excited to begin the residency in Berwick.

The outcome of the residency will be exhibited at Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival between Thursday 20 — Sunday 23 September 2018.
